or some other
pointy object
would work.
I hunted through
the hodgepodge
of random things
in my backpack
and almost stabbed
myself with
the pointy shapes
of three other widgets.
I had stashed them in
my backpack
months ago
and totally forgot
about them.
Clay had somehow managed
to twist one of them
into the form of a corkscrew.
That might just work.
I put the widget
into the lock
and resumed my twisting
until something loosened
I turned the knob.
The door opened,
revealing darkness
and the familiar musty smell.
A flashlight
would be nice.
