School seems almost boring
compared to what can happen
outside its rooms and halls.
I floated through classes,
my mind like an out-of-tune radio
that couldn’t find a signal.
Geometry was infuriating,
but my fury was muted.
I sleepwalked through laps
in P.E.
Poetry in English
also put me to sleep.
And the frenzy
of computer engineering
flickered past like
a silent movie.
Only when I got a faint glimpse
of my ex-crush
(crush, ex-crush, what is he?),
did I truly feel awake.
So much was still unsettled.
So much had to be said.
But who would say it?
