Distractions at school
made everything easier.
The day went by faster
and felt a lot shorter.
This one senior guy in the cafeteria
stood up on a chair,
ran his hands through his hair,
and proclaimed the word of God to the air.
A table full of Goths threw French fries at him,
but that cruel intervention
gave him no real intention
of stepping down without a casual mention
of hell.
The Goths looked away,
the principal came running before there was a fray,
and nothing else interesting happened
for the whole rest of that day.
