The Thursday Three #27

I’m still reading A Confederacy of Dunces, which is getting more and more funny. It also has some good quotes sprinkled throughout:

1. Books are immortal sons defying their sires. —Plato

2. A great writer is the friend and benefactor of his readers. —Macaulay

3. A good book is the precious life-blood of a master-spirit, embalmed and treasured up on purpose for a life beyond. —Milton

I don’t have much of my own commentary to add to these; they’re so well said that they don’t require an explanation. (Anyone think these should go on T-shirts and bumper stickers?)

  1. Confederacy of Dunces will not disappoint! By the time I finished it, I loved it and it became a cult classic I highly recommend to everyone. The story just keeps getting crazier!
