- I finished The Little Friend (Donna Tartt), and I have very mixed emotions about it. The main question in the book was never answered, at least not in any way that I could figure out. Despite that flaw, the rest of the book was very good. I loved the descriptions of Mississippi and all the characters. This author really has a way of bringing her creations to life!
- Now I’m reading A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole), which is supposed to be a humorous classic. So far, the main character is strongly reminding me of a person I know in real life, so that makes the story even more entertaining. I found out that the author committed suicide when he was 31, so in a way, that casts a pall over my reading of the book.
- On a brighter note, Camp NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow… and I’m totally unprepared. I don’t know what I’m going to set my word count goal to be, and I’m not even 100% set on what my idea is. I’m really leaning toward going with the “write more in my story bible” idea, just so I can get my head back into the series.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
