Here’s an interesting blog if you like typos (finding them, not necessarily seeing them), word origins, and/or trivia about literature.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman is an excellent work of fiction about what lurks in the mind of that curmudgeonly old man next door. Some of it is heartbreaking, some of it is complaining about those dratted IT consultants, and some of it is wondering why more people don’t drive Saabs. Very good book; highly recommended.
I saw Remember Me on Netflix, a movie with Robert Pattinson (AKA that guy from Twilight who played the sparkling vampire) that had a controversial ending. I knew going in that the movie took place in 2001, so I had in the back of my mind the most infamous event of that year, and sure enough, the movie managed to incorporate that. I can see why the screenwriters did it, but at the same time, it felt kinda like a cheap shot.
