One of the many things I’m thankful for this year is that I haven’t fallen behind in NaNo. At the beginning of the month I had doubts about whether my wimpy (and somewhat lazy) idea would be strong enough to warrant a word count of 50,000.
As of this morning, my graph looks like this, which means I am right on track and set to reach 50k on Sunday. (It’s also in fall colors!)
Because I’m writing a bunch of stuff related to revision and trying to make sense of my ideas and tie up loose ends, this NaNo document has probably been the most useful of all the others I’ve written over the years. I am getting some good ideas, and these ideas are leading to questions about the story, which leads to me having some nice brainstorming sessions about the characters and the plot of the whole series. All in all, I’m pleased with it.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
