“Literary” Resolutions for 2011

Happy New Year

OK, I know it’s not technically 2011 yet (unless you’re in Australia or New Zealand), but I don’t post tomorrow, so I’ll go ahead and wish everyone the best of health and happiness in the new year!

Every year, I come up with resolutions. I manage to stick to most of them; I can be pretty resolute when I really set my mind to it.

Here are mine for 2011:

1. Revise the novels (or at least get a really good head start on each one).
2. Finish The Archives.
3. Write 1 poem per day.
3.5. Revise 1 poem per week.
4. Read at least 52 books this year.
5. Win NaNoWriMo again!
6. Write 1 blog per weekday.

Do you make resolutions every year? Feel free to share – and if you don’t make resolutions, feel free to share why you don’t. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Those sound like some pretty hefty resolutions. I wish you the best with them!

I don’t really make resolutions. If I were to, they would be much smaller than yours! Possibly just: Edit my first book. Write a new book. And read more. Though I see them more as goals I will strive for.

I hope 2011 is a good year for you!

  2. Those are some big resolutions!

I’ve blogged about my goals for next year, which mostly include writing and job searching with some other fun things like reading 25 previously unread books. (Yes, I’m a really slow reader, and the writing will take a lot of time.)

    Good luck!

    1. I wish you the best of luck with your resolutions, especially the job searching. Thanks for commenting, Sushi! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I tried to read a book a week last year but my life was taken over my graduate school ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Hopefully I can start reading more for fun because this semester wont be as strenuous!

    1. Good luck with your resolutions – I read them on your blog. Your number 3 was my biggest resolution all through my undergrad years. And I’m totally with you on #7… that’s a big problem of mine too! Wish you the best! ๐Ÿ™‚
