I can’t write (or even think) well unless I have the proper fuel. During NaNoWriMo time, it’s even more essential that I have the following:

Pocky! An expensive, but worthwhile Japanese chocolate (it actually comes in every flavor imaginable) treat that disappears so fast, you honestly wonder if the plot bunnies stole some. Also mentioned in this post.

Yes, it really is good to the last drop. I know lots of people who love Starbucks, but every kind of coffee I’ve had over there has been too bitter for my taste.

Hershey Bar

And the good old-fashioned Hershey bar, a definite must-have for moments of writer’s block. I’m pretty sure the statement proclaiming it’s “a nourishing food” is false, but it’s SUGAR! Who cares if it’s nourishing or not, right?

What are your favorite writing fuels?

  1. My favorite writing fuel . . . imagination. When I’m in the zone, I soar.

That said, a few cups of coffee in the morning is a great way to jumpstart my imagination. 😉

  2. I totally agree with the coffee thing. Especially during nanowrimo. This is my first year as a nano-er (?) and I’m drinking twice the coffee I normally do.

Also, thank you for mentioning Pocky! I’ve never had it or even known what it was, but I read stories where people have mentioned it and wondered about it. (Why I didn’t just look it up is beyond me!) Now that I know what it is I might just have to head to my local Wal-mart!
